iPhone Developer Program

For those of you not following, Apple released details of their iPhone developer program. I’ve of course applied to be a $99 “Individual” developer.

I’m not sure how Apple evaluates these applications, but should an esteemed Apple representative cruise by to check out my development resume, I’d like to submit Newton IM, some various projects for the Danger Hiptop, especially HiptopVNC. Also, don’t miss my work for the Samsung SPH-i300 (one of the first “all screen” phones out there, Samsung actually used my DevKit for the thing, when they couldn’t get one out of their suppliers overseas!)

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

Another fine weekend at the PVGP. It has been a few years since I last visited Pittsburgh for the event. It is the longest-run road race in the United States and there really isn’t any other car show or race quite like it. To any car enthusiast, I highly recommend the weekend excursion.While you’re there, I recommend checking out FatHeads, Primanti’s, and Srees (if you like Indian food). I’m looking forward to next year already.

iTunes Outlook Crashes

Well, after wrestling with iTunes and Outlook on my PC for a few hours, I finally found a solution that works. It involves Data Execution Protection (DEP) in Windows.

Try this solution at your own risk!

By adding Outlook and iTunes to the list of ignored applications for DEP, I was finally able to get Outlook to accept both iTunes Sync Add-ins with out crashing and sync my data. The “iTunes Outlook Sync Addin” was the real culprit.

I’ve read that other add-ins, such as Baysean Spam Filters, also suffer from this type of problem. I don’t have an Athelon 64, but the solution seems to work the same.

iPhone Merge Sync

I just discovered that the iPhone can merge sync from two different computers. This is great for users that sync with their home Macs but want their Outlook Calendar synced at work.

Yes, I got my iPhone. It’s not perfect, but a great device. You really should go to to an AppleStore and try one out, even if you’re not going to buy one. It really raises the bar on what’s possible in a cell phone.

It is finally here!

Yes I want one. Yes I’ll be getting one. Yes, I’m sure I’ll find something to be disappointed about. I probably will keep my Sidekick as well, assuming the retention wizards at T-Mobile can make me happy with some sort of deal. Too bad there’s no SDK, but that hasn’t stopped me in the past. Wish me luck on the 29th.

Highly recommended. I’m looking forward to my next stay. The $10 internet fee seems unbecoming of such a fine resort. I do realize that the trend is for the nicer establishments to charge for such amenities. Even the Holiday Inn, however, understands that internet access more of a necessity, and such a fee is along the lines of charging for use of the room’s television.

High Point, NJ

Tucked in the upper west corner of NJ is the highest point in New Jersey. There’s a obelisk monument on the site. This weekend I took a flight out to see it from the air. I confess, that I didn’t know that it was even there until I started flying. It makes a great landmark for finding your way around north western NJ. Then, we tried for Lunch at Blairstown, NJ. The restaurant’s line was out the door, so we opted to go to Sky Manor instead.

The King and I

For all those who might be interested, I am working on a production of The King and I with the Livingston Community Players. Show dates are this weekend (Nov 11^th) and next (Nov 18^th). Saturday shows are at 7:30pm and Sunday shows at 2:00pm, with an additional 2:00pm matinée on the 18^th. Its at the Mt. Pleasant Middle School (Route 10/Mt. Pleasant Ave.) I assisted the lighting designer and looks like I’ll be on running crew as well, so you might sneak a peek of me during a scene change.

Jordan Koza at the Crossroads

I went to the Crossroads in Garwood, NJ last night to see my cousin perform. I told Sandy that I’d be posting this view on the YouTube on the Internets, but instead I’ll post it here to start.

The audio isn’t great, but you get the idea. I guess I need to get a shotgun mic for my camcorder.
